started  nfs-client#touch {1..10000} on nfs-mount point.
and added 1 brick to existing 2 brick dht cluster.
waited until 10000 files are created and started rebalance .
during rebalance did rm -rf * .  -- even after rebalance is completed unable to delete few files.(~800 files - these 800 files spread across three bricks. brick[1-2] has 300,brick3 has 200)

server#gluster volume rebalance qa43dht  status
rebalance completed: rebalanced 10000 files of size 0 (total files scanned 16631)

server-backend#ls -l /mnt/qa43/9999
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Oct  9 01:53 /mnt/qa43/9999

Lakshmi, This issue doesn't seem to be happening now with rebalance. Please re-open if you see the issue with 3.1.2+ releases.
