Description Prasanth 2011-02-03 12:28:08 UTC
Hi Divya,

This is a suggestion from my side to improve our documentation mainly regarding gNFS setup.

The current Gluster documentation at http://www.gluster.com/community/documentation/index.php/Gluster_3.1_NFS_Guide doesn't give any of the following information's:

1. The difference between FUSE mount and gNFS mount and its advantages.
2. Whether any separate package to be installed in the client side for using gNFS or not.
3. How to mount the share on the client server using gnfs and how it is talking to the native nfs
4. Whether to stop the kernel nfs or not before starting the volume in order to use a gNFS based mount.
5. A link to our NFS FAQ page: http://www.gluster.org/faq/index.php?sid=8860&lang=en&action=show&cat=5, etc, etc

All these information's are there but they are scattered around and we need to make it available at a single point so that even the new users will find it very easy to go through it and proceed with the configuration without any assistance from the support. So adding these details in our Gluster doc under the concerned sub-headings will be very useful.

Please go through it and get other inputs/details from Shehjar and add it to our doc.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Prasanth
