Cf. #2540.

If quota xlator had proper option validation, the volfile in question would abort the gluster client. On the contrary, it's merrily starting up.

PATCH: http://patches.gluster.com/patch/6824 in master (features/quota: Validate the quota options. and donot include into the client volfile.)

With the above patch, quota identifies the option as invalid and also logs in logfile. However since it is not a critical error (quota can ignore the option and still continue its operation), glusterfs does not exist. We can move this bug to verified state.
