Description Gerald Teschl 2002-10-21 20:13:51 UTC
Description of Problem:
It is no longer possible to print dvi files directly using lpr.
This is due to a mising print filter entry for dvi files.
Adding a print filter

/TeX DVI file/ pipe/postscript/ /usr/bin/dvips -f

fixes the problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

tetex-dvips-1.0.7-57.1

Comment 1 Tim Waugh 2002-10-21 20:16:49 UTC
This is intentional. Use 'dvips -o output.ps; lpr output.ps' instead.

Comment 2 Gerald Teschl 2002-10-21 20:26:31 UTC
I do not understand the intetion here? Why not making it userfriendly?
Moroever, people here are used to this and produce large amounts of
wasted paper;-(
