SELinux is preventing /usr/libexec/polkit-1/polkit-agent-helper-1 from using the 'sys_nice' capabilities. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that polkit-agent-helper-1 should have the sys_nice capability by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep polkit-agent-he /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c 0.c1023 Target Context unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c 0.c1023 Target Objects Unknown [ capability ] Source polkit-agent-he Source Path /usr/libexec/polkit-1/polkit-agent-helper-1 Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages polkit-0.98-5.fc14 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.9.7-46.fc14 Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 2.6.35.14-106.fc14.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Nov 23 13:07:52 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 3 First Seen Fri 30 Dec 2011 11:45:11 AM EST Last Seen Fri 30 Dec 2011 12:28:11 PM EST Local ID 10aadb6c-bd89-4787-86ca-9fcfd6ff0e1c Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1325266091.895:16060): avc: denied { sys_nice } for pid=13105 comm="polkit-agent-he" capability=23 scontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tclass=capability type=AVC msg=audit(1325266091.895:16060): avc: denied { setsched } for pid=13105 comm="polkit-agent-he" scontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tclass=process type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1325266091.895:16060): arch=x86_64 syscall=sched_setscheduler success=no exit=EACCES a0=3331 a1=0 a2=7fff881b7e10 a3=1 items=0 ppid=11848 pid=13105 auid=500 uid=500 gid=500 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=500 sgid=500 fsgid=500 tty=(none) ses=2262 comm=polkit-agent-he exe=/usr/libexec/polkit-1/polkit-agent-helper-1 subj=unconfined_u:unconfined_r:policykit_auth_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 key=(null) Hash: polkit-agent-he,policykit_auth_t,policykit_auth_t,capability,sys_nice audit2allow #============= policykit_auth_t ============== allow policykit_auth_t self:capability sys_nice; allow policykit_auth_t self:process setsched; audit2allow -R #============= policykit_auth_t ============== allow policykit_auth_t self:capability sys_nice; allow policykit_auth_t self:process setsched;
This bug occurred when I opened the software installer and was searching to load the kernel sources so I could update the Virtual Box Driver.
Please update to a supported Fedora version.
