The latest version of lighttpd in EPEL5 is currently 1.4.26-2, while the latest upstream version is 1.4.30 and the version in EPEL6 is at 1.4.28-3 (which is probably fine in this regard). There appears to be a problem with Google Chrome POSTing data to a HTTPS webserver running an old version of lighttpd, resulting in an error page like http://support.opendrive.com/entries/20787912-error-logging-in-using-google-chome More information about the problem can be found from: https://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=787a092902ce94ca&hl=en http://redmine.lighttpd.net/issues/2197 http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=107576 I'd appreciate it if someone could update the EPEL5 lighttpd to a slightly newer version. Thanks for your consideration.
There is an update in testing, but it needs two more signed in users to approve it: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2011-3765/lighttpd- 1.4.28-3.el5
The update was submitted to stable, therefore I consider this bug addressed.
