Description Gordan Bobic 2012-01-11 00:25:18 UTC
Created attachment 551975 [details]
Removes @note comment from include/linux/elfnote.h

Description of problem:
Kernel module signing will fail due to the assembler comment bug on some non-x86 platforms.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.32-220
2.6.32-220.2.1

It is arguable whether this is a kernel bug - assembler should perhaps be made to understand @comment constructs, but this is at least a good workaround for now

Additional info:
Attached patch simply removes the problematic comment from include/linux/elfnote.h

Comment 3 RHEL Program Management 2012-05-03 05:16:44 UTC
Since RHEL 6.3 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 5 Prarit Bhargava 2013-11-12 14:10:26 UTC
Closing as WONTFIX. Red Hat does not typically support custom builds of our sources.
