Created attachment 552507 [details] Upstream patch Description of problem: The current display dialog is useless for users with more than one monitor if they wish to use anything other than a cloned mode. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: - Steps to Reproduce: 1. call xfce4-display-settings 2. 3. Actual results: Positions are not configurable. Expected results: User can modify positions of virtual screens. Additional info: A working patch can be found upstream. https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7465 To tweak the spec file, use ./autogen.sh instead of %configure, otherwise the patch won't show any effect to the dialog because the glade file must be regenerated (see https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7465#c8 ). ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc --enable-sound-settings --enable-pluggable-dialogs
Forget about using autogen.sh in the spec file, it's sufficient to add --enable-maintainer-mode to %configure to regenerate the glade header file after applied the patch.

ok. I have commited this to rawhide. I'd like to let it cook there for a bit and if it looks stable push out to stable releases. Thanks for the pointer to the patch!
