We need an explicit check list of items that need to be done before release. I know we have the release process doc, which is good, but one thing it doesn't cover is going through the PRD and making sure that all of the s/w we say will be available is actually in the release. For instance, the BRMS from JBoss Rules was not shipped and yet was supposed to be a tech preview.

Maybe this is a problem with the PRD as well. Was the PRD explicit about the BRMS? Worth checking that as well. If it wasn't then we should add a section on "Release S/W" or something.

In this case, it doesn't look like a problem with the PRD - Drools BRMS is mentioned in there.  However, the PRD also mentions (for example) the GUI installer and a separate documentation zip.

An initial release check list has been added:

It probably needs expanding.

The next step is to expand the release process and refer to those sections from the check list.
