Affects: Documentation (Ref Guide, User Guide, etc.) Complexity: Medium Date of First Response: 2009-09-01 15:17:07 project_key: SOA It looks like the guide was never shipped with CP01 - we should include it into the Admin guide.

I believe that this is the most recent version of the SOA Software integration guide : http://svn.jboss.org/repos/labs/labs/jbossesb/branches/JBESB_4_4_GA_CP/product/docs/SOASoftwareIntegration.odt

too late to add into 4.3.CP02, moved to CP03
This relates to SOA 1444, so I will leave it with you.
This is going to be documented in KBase. Will update this JIRA with the URL when it is available.
1 - this procedure is how to configure JBossESB to use the SOA Software Service Manager as it's UDDI registry instead of jUDDI ? ------> That is correct. 2 - from the document: "This text assumes you have a running JBoss Application/ESB Server, and the latest 4.4 CP GA." This corresponds to SOA Platform 4.3 CP01 ? ------> Yes, but this opens up a good question - to date, we have only deployed and tested with SOA Software running on 4.3 SOA-P servers (and being accessed by SOA-P 4.3 and 5.0 servers). Do we want to also support (and test and certify) deploying to 5.0 servers? Will this work? 3 - from the document: "For JBoss ESB 4.4.GA, the Scout jar must be updated to scout-1.0rc2.aop.jar " This would be SOA Platform 4.3 GA ? Where do they obtain the updated Scout jar from ? And which file do they have to replace with it ? what path ? Or do we only want to support this on SOA 4.3 CP01 or later? ------> In SOA 4.3 CP04, the scout file included is 1.0 - In 5.0, the file is version 1.2 - I think both are OK. 4 - Apache Axis is required because SOAP is the only transport we can use for this integration, or the only one we support/test ? ------> I think that it's possible to do something in memory - this is a Tom Cunningham question. 5 - The document describes the progress of setting up "the guest user in Workbench to the guest role". However it doesn't describe why this is required, nor can I find reference to this user in the rest of the document. Why is it needed ? ------> That's a good point - the docs say that this is used for anonymous access - but - don't we have all access go thru the admin account? Also a Tom Cunningham question.
------> In SOA 4.3 CP04, the scout file included is 1.0 - In 5.0, the file is version 1.2 - I think both are OK. Do we only want to support this in 4.3.CP04 or later then ?
Candidate for SOA 5.1.0
