Description Stelios Koussouris 2009-11-04 13:18:39 UTC
Affects: Documentation (Ref Guide, User Guide, etc.)
project_key: SOA

I have increasingly come across system properties and environment variables that ESB uses to "define behavior". I know we probably have documented in some WIKI some of those but not in our official documentation and not exhaustively in a list. In addition, some environment variables override the behavior of the system properties from the ESB configs but it is not easy to identify which ones do that (eg. look at the article I have created below). Could we perhaps have a JIRA where we submit those we wish to be documented in the upcoming release and that way create a list/table of all of them and their intended behavior?

I have begun by documenting here
http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/docs/DOC-19333

the behavior of
Environment.EXCEPTION_ON_DELIVERY_FAILURE
Environment.REDELIVER_DLS_SERVICE_ON
org.jboss.soa.esb.dls.redeliver

and how the 2nd environment variable can override the system property

Tom, can you please arrange for a subject matter expert to supply this information? I will then add it to the documentation.
