Hmm... interesting, I wasn't able to reproduce that - instead the login screen showed up again.
Burr - this is on Windows? Vista?
Win7 64-bit with Java 1.6 64-bit but that shouldn't cause it. I bring up the login screen, don't actually login, just work on another task, take a nap, shower, brush teeth, come back an hour later and try to login - goes boom. :-)
Indeed, it blows up...I've created a JBPAPP jira for this, since it's an EAP issue.

11/3/2011 - Tested after Admin Console login screen had been up 30 and was able to log in successfully.
