project_key: SOA Teiid configuration from the project is tuned for a small machine with just 2 GB's of memory. This needs to be adjusted for a machine that has, say 64 GB's of memory, a production level machine.

The changes in Teiid for tuning has been simplified. Teiid will now make auto-adjustments based on its current environment. And with fewer parameters to tune, this should help with ootb production use. However, validating this assumption will take resources and hardware. I realize we have performance test, but what this needs is repetitive testing with varying degrees of change to the existing parameters to verify impact that can give direction to tuning. Therefore, the status of this issue is up in the air.

SOA-3331 is tracking the QE performance testing.
Link: Added: This issue depends SOA-3331
The Teiid auto-tuning changes in 5.2 are looking pretty good. There are 2 issues, related to QE performance results, that are being investigated. I now have a framework that will enable faster turnaround of tests and the comparing performance results so that "What if" testing can be performed in order to make tuning recommendations.
This appears to have been fixed in SOA-P 5.2; can we verify on ER4?
This will need to be moved to post 5.3 to give adequate time to procure hardware and perform "what-if-testing". We may want to consider waiting to test with 6.0 since there will be significant changes to SOA-P and Teiid coming in 6.0.

This will be covered in the Best Practices, Admin guide (tuning) and the use of the new DV sizing application. Because there's no one size fits all that can be done. However, I would like to consider adding an enhancement to the installer where we could enable the user to configure the server (i.e., heap size, tune teiid). But to tune for out-of-the-box use, this doesn't work. So closing this for and another BZ can be opened for anything specific we would like to do (i.e., installer enhancement),.
