Description dave.null 2012-01-13 16:52:30 UTC
Description of problem:

When starting the UHD driver, it warn about not being able to set the thread priority.

It is recommended in the UHD documentation to increase the maximum real-time priority of the UHD user:
http://files.ettus.com/uhd_docs/manual/html/general.html#threading-notes

This could be easily made by adding a file "/etc/security/limits.d/99-usrp.conf" containing:
@usrp         -       rtprio          99

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
uhd-3.3.1-1.fc16.x86_64

How reproducible:
Start any program using the UHD driver (this require an USRP),
eg: uhd_usrp_probe

Actual results:
The UHD driver print a warning:

UHD Warning:
    Unable to set the thread priority. Performance may be negatively affected.
    Please see the general application notes in the manual for instructions.
    EnvironmentError: OSError: error in pthread_setschedparam

Expected results:
The UHD start normally, by sucessfully setting the thread priority.
