Description of problem: The SDCard reader on the DELL XPS 15 L502x and apparently other models also, the controller don't work at all and it don't show on the lspci section. If you insert a card and force a pcirescan the device starts to works correctly. Tested with 3.3.4-5.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Mon May 7 17:29:34 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux and it fails all the same. Is this the oldest kernel for FC17? I'm confused, I'm pretty sure that it used to work and that it ceased working on a kernel change, around 3.1 (rolling back in grub to the older kernel brought back the card reader). Was that on FC16? Actually, to make things clearer, the reader is detected at initial scan or on forced rescan only if there is a card inserted, ie, doing a pci rescan without a card inserted doesn't bring back the device in lspci. Daniel

This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a response in 2 weeks. If you are still experiencing this issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you are running and any data that might have been requested previously.

Only works with insered sd-card and rescan on Fedora 19. 3.11.1-200.fc19.x86_64 Robert
Still confirmed on Fedora 19, same as comment 14. Some additional info if useful: 'udevadm monitor' does not detect card insertion until pci rescan. Hope it helps to find out the issue. Daniel
