Description Helge Deller 2012-01-16 09:16:31 UTC
Description of problem:
Without upstream commit http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=commitdiff;h=28eebb703e28bc455ba704adb1026f76649b768c users of some (older) ATI Radeon cards end up with mysterious "hanging" windows in X-Windows.
Please include this patch in the next RHEL6 update kernel.
The original upstream patch is already scheduled for inclusion in "stable" kernel series, but I'm not sure if RHEL's kernel is in this list...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
RHEL6 kernel

How reproducible:
Always

Comment 3 RHEL Program Management 2012-05-03 05:44:18 UTC
Since RHEL 6.3 External Beta has begun, and this bug remains
unresolved, it has been rejected as it is not proposed as
exception or blocker.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate and relevant, in the
next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 4 Takuma Umeya 2017-06-06 15:29:57 UTC
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 transitioned to the Production 3 Phase on May 10, 2017. During the Production 3 Phase, Critical impact Security Advisories (RHSAs) and selected Urgent Priority Bug Fix Advisories (RHBAs) may be released as they become available.

The official life cycle policy can be reviewed here:

        http://redhat.com/rhel/lifecycle

This issue does not appear to meet the inclusion criteria for the Production 3 Phase and will be marked as CLOSED/WONTFIX. If this remains a critical requirement, please contact your EPM to request a re-evaluation of the issue, citing a clear business justification.
