Comment 2 Josh Boyer 2012-03-01 18:30:38 UTC
Seems to be hung up in:

[227804.021004] EIP is at intel_crt_load_detect+0x590/0xb30 [i915]

This might be fixed in later kernels.

Comment 3 Adam Jackson 2012-03-01 19:45:54 UTC
I doubt it is, the code is identical upstream still.

Can you attach the rest of dmesg from before this traceback? You're already booting with drm.debug=4, so the message immediately before this traceback will tell me exactly how you're getting to this failure.

Comment 4 paul 2012-03-02 15:15:46 UTC
Thanks.

Due to another critical bug seemingly related to 82865G chipset (see bug ID 730853), i have removed f16 on this machine as it is no really productive.

Comment 5 Adam Jackson 2012-03-02 17:48:02 UTC
Bug #750853 should be resolved in the next kernel update, if it is what I think it is.

Comment 6 Adam Jackson 2012-03-02 21:29:54 UTC
Er, bug #730853 rather.

Comment 7 markusN 2012-07-27 11:58:59 UTC
I have a similar problem, the machine remains frozen. It happens
after waking up from suspend but also while working.

FWIW: I found this related blog article:

Comment 9 Dave Jones 2012-07-27 15:21:02 UTC
Bugs in the nvidia proprietary driver have to go to nvidia. We can't do anything about them.

This bug is specifically about a bug in the Intel driver.

Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2013-01-16 10:01:01 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '16'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 16 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on
"Clone This Bug" and open it against that version of Fedora.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 11 Fedora End Of Life 2013-02-13 08:10:02 UTC
Fedora 16 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-02-12. Fedora 16 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
