Description of problem: I use the Xfce desktop environment and wanted to rip a CD. I knew sound-juicer before, so I decided to use it. After installation and start, I get: (sound-juicer:2598): Gtk-WARNING **: Unknown property: GtkDialog.has-separator (sound-juicer:2598): Gtk-WARNING **: Unknown property: GtkDialog.has-separator ** (sound-juicer:2598): WARNING **: Widget (GtkEntry) has more than one label Segmentation fault (core dumped) abrt shows this in in var_log_messages: Jan 23 21:33:23 Thinkpad yum[5140]: Installed: sound-juicer-2.32.0-7.fc15.x86_64 Jan 23 21:33:51 Thinkpad kernel: [ 5203.590994] sound-juicer[5158]: segfault at 0 ip 0000000000410951 sp 00007fff6c122cc0 error 4 in sound-juicer[400000+27000] Jan 23 21:33:51 Thinkpad abrt[5168]: Saved core dump of pid 5158 (/usr/bin/sound-juicer) to /var/spool/abrt/ccpp-2012-01-23-21:33:51-5158 (65945600 bytes) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): My Fedora is up to date Fedora 16 3.1.9-1.fc16.x86_64 sound juicer is sound-juicer.x86_64 0:2.32.0-7.fc15 Installed dependencies are: totem-pl-parser-2.32.6-2.fc16.x86_64 brasero-libs-3.2.0-1.fc16.x86_64 How reproducible: Always. This bug is still present on Fedora 17 Xfce 64-bit (Xfce installed from unofficial repo). This is what I get when I try to run it from terminal: [user@host ~]$ sound-juicer Segmentfejl (core dumped)
It works now for me. Some patches somewhere fixed the problem.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 16 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 16. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '16'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 16's end of life. Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 16 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged to click on "Clone This Bug" and open it against that version of Fedora. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. The process we are following is described here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping
Fedora 16 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-02-12. Fedora 16 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
This one needs reopening. On Fedora 18 sound-juicer ran but created corrupt flac files (metaflac failed to process them but they did play and I even succeeded in converting them to mp3) and now for F19 it is back to segfaulting. It spews several reps of: Unrecognised release element: 'release-event-list' Unrecognised release element: 'cover-art-archive' then ends with: Segmentation fault It happens right after it connects to the network to get the disc info. If the network is disabled it just hangs on the info fetch and does not appear to time out. Problem exists with both a disc I got the semi-usable files from with F18 (Rush - Moving Pictures) and one I had yet to try (Pink Floyd - A Momentary Lapse of Reason).
