Description Jan Stodola 2012-01-25 11:17:39 UTC
Created attachment 557427 [details]
anaconda logs (killall -USR2 anaconda)

Description of problem:
I'm trying to perform an installation into image file using anaconda, but the image is not present at the Specialized Storage Device screen. The only available device is physical hard drive.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
anaconda-16.25-1.fc16

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. dd if=/dev/zero of=/home/jstodola/images/disk_a bs=1M count=10000
2. anaconda --image=/home/jstodola/images/disk_a
3. anaconda asks to discard any data on the image file, select "Yes, ..."
4. proceed to the "Specialized Storage Devices" screen

Actual results:
One device is present - computer's hard drive. The image file doesn't show.

Expected results:
One device is present - the image file. Computer's hard drive doesn't show.

If you pass --image= we should be forcing the simple/basic filter. Apparently nobody has ever chosen specialized storage in an image install until you.

Comment 2 Jan Stodola 2012-07-02 11:24:32 UTC
Retested with anaconda-17.29, "Specialized Storage Devices" is not available when installing to an image file, thus users are no longer confused by missing device there.

Closing this bug as fixed.
