After more 'testing', it seems that: 1. if ioquake is run in fullscreen, the problem does not appear 2. if ioquake is run without compositor, the problem does not appear 3. once runnig ioquake in windowed mode, it's likely that the problem will popup May be a synchronization issue due to simultaneous screen updates from gnome-shell and ioquake?
