Description of problem: Both this package and python-twitter have a file /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/twitter.py This doesn't work for two reasons: filesystem conflicts and python module naming conflicts. You need to get the two upstreams to decide which one will own the twitter module and have the other one rename their module. Failing to get the upstreams to agree we'd need to rename one of these locally in Fedora. Based on the fact that python-twitter has a reasonably active upstream and python-rest-client hasn't had a release since 2008 or touched any of its bugs ever, I think the best resolution here would be to patch python-rest-client to use a different name for twitter.py, possibly rc-twitter.py, or to move all of the code into a module directory.
s/rc-twitter.py/rc_twitter.py/ (as "import rc-twitter" is invalid syntax) But having a module directory seems even better as there's a lot of other bare modules in rest client that are being placed in the toplevel.
I agree with you. and will patch this during the week. I tend to move everything into module directory. I'm also aware of probably breaking some dependent package. Mail to fedora-devel will follow, when it's ready.
