Backtrace for the crash

Description of problem:
When browsing emails in KMail, with the setting to prefer HTML over plain text enabled, and the setting to enable images from the Internet enabled as well, KMail crashes if I look at Linux Forums emails twice, or certain other emails.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kdepim-4.7.4-1.fc16.i686

How reproducible:
Every time.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enable "Prefer HTML email" and "allow external references" in the settings.
2. Click on a Linux Forums email and wait for everything to load.
3. Click on a different email.
4. Click on the Linux Forums email you just viewed.
5. Watch it crash.

Actual results:
Crash.

Expected results:
Being able to view the emails normally.

Additional info:
This happens with any recent Linux Forums daily news email.

Comment 1 Danny Brodzik 2012-01-28 21:56:14 UTC
Additional info: This crash does not occur if external images are disabled.

Comment 2 Rex Dieter 2012-01-30 13:40:18 UTC
Seems related to
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=286307#c62

Can you try the workaround mentioned there, disable khtml cache?

kcmshell4 cache

Comment 3 Martin Bříza 2012-07-17 15:02:34 UTC
This bug definitely is related to #286307 in KDE. It was fixed recently in KDE SC 4.8.5.
The patch was backported by Rex Dieter to kdepim-4.8.4-4.fc16 that you can obtain on http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=329652 if you want to test the fix.

Rex, I couldn't find the bug report for which you backported the patch, so I'm setting needinfo for you to know this bug is here and to set appropriate relationships with other bugs (if there are any).

Thank you.

Comment 4 Rex Dieter 2012-07-17 15:10:19 UTC
There is no public report (yet afaik), it was from private correspondence on kde-packager list
