This bug definitely is related to #286307 in KDE. It was fixed recently in KDE SC 4.8.5. The patch was backported by Rex Dieter to kdepim-4.8.4-4.fc16 that you can obtain on http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=329652 if you want to test the fix. Rex, I couldn't find the bug report for which you backported the patch, so I'm setting needinfo for you to know this bug is here and to set appropriate relationships with other bugs (if there are any). Thank you.
There is no public report (yet afaik), it was from private correspondence on kde-packager list
