RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Product Errata RHBA-2012:0747 0 normal SHIPPED_LIVE sssd bug fix and enhancement update 2012-06-19 19:31:43 UTC

Description Stephen Gallagher 2012-01-30 21:07:57 UTC
This bug is created as a clone of upstream ticket:
https://fedorahosted.org/sssd/ticket/972

When you run sssd with --debug-timestamps=1, it is not passed to providers arguments.

As result, when you disable timestamps in sssd.conf (debug_timestamps = false) in other section than [sssd] and run sssd --debug-timestamps=1, timestamps are only shown in monitor debug messages.

Comment 3 Steeve Goveas 2012-04-05 07:51:23 UTC
Disabled timestamps in domain section of sssd.conf

[root@wheeljack ~]# cat /etc/sssd/sssd.conf
[domain/lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com]

cache_credentials = True
krb5_store_password_if_offline = True
ipa_domain = lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com
id_provider = ipa
auth_provider = ipa
debug_level = 9
debug_timestamps = false
access_provider = ipa
chpass_provider = ipa
ipa_server = wheeljack.lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com
ldap_tls_cacert = /etc/ipa/ca.crt

[sssd]
services = nss, pam, ssh
debug_level = 9
config_file_version = 2

domains = lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com

[root@wheeljack ~]# tail -f /var/log/sssd/sssd_lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com.log /var/log/sssd/sssd.log

Executing with --debug-timestamps=1

[root@wheeljack ~]# sssd --debug-timestamps=1 --debug-to-files

[root@wheeljack ~]# tail -f /var/log/sssd/sssd_lab.eng.pnq.redhat.com.log /var/log/sssd/sssd.log
