I had this exact same issue. There is a workaround for this issue as outlined in: http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=275968
Problem remains after following the workaround instructions.
Fedora testing updates has the solution, which is a 1.0 version of libvpx (at least thats what I found on my F15, surelly will apply for F16): yum --enablerepo *testing update libvpx Or wait for the testing packages to get promoted to the F16 repo.
I also have this issue, but the workaround will NOT work for me as I have MythTV installed from ATRPMs and several packages within that will NO longer work if I implement the workaround. When is the proper fix going to be migrated to Updates?
Unfortunately this doesn't fix the issue. # yum --enablerepo *testing update libvpx [snip] --> Processing Dependency: libvpx.so.0 for package: xulrunner6-6.0.2-1.fc14.remi.i686 --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: xulrunner6-6.0.2-1.fc14.remi.i686 (@remi/14) Requires: libvpx.so.0 Removing: libvpx-0.9.7.1-1.fc16.i686 (@anaconda-0) libvpx.so.0 Updated By: libvpx-1.0.0-1.fc16.i686 (updates) Not found You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem [snip] # cat /etc/redhat-release Fedora release 16 (Verne)
xulrunner6-6.0.2-1.fc14.remi is not from Fedora repo, please install the official Fedora packages (xulrunner-10.0-1.fc15 from updates). A new ffmpeg package from rpmfusion is already in place.
You can get a fix for this as follows: wget http://fedora.mirror.lstn.net/updates/16/i386/libvpx-0.9.7.1-1.fc16.i686.rpm rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps libvpx-1.0.0-1.fc16.i686.rpm Not ideal but better than been abandoned.
