Description of problem: f17-alpha-TC1 DVD and netinstall allow configuration of wireless on install. But: Anaconda invoked from livienst command in f17 live nightly Fedora-17-Nightly-20120206.11-x86_64-Live-desktop.iso Does not allow [Configure Network] to work. It is grayed out. This also occurs in Fedora-17-Nightly-20120206.11-i686-Live-soas.iso Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): anaconda 17-5 How reproducible: Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Be able to configure wireless on install Additional info:
You use the live environment to configure networking during a live install, and then anaconda will just propagate that information to the finished system.
<adamw> satellit_: like chris says: you.re meant to just configure the network on the desktop, not in anaconda. <satellit_> Fedora-17-Nightly-20120206.11-x86_64-Live-desktop.iso does not allow it to happen either on the installed HD or on the live CD no pop ups after selecting the AP (which it sees) in network settings (it lists it as disconnected) <satellit_> adamw: there is a bug here
gnome3 /system settings /network sees wireless AP but selection on drop down list does not stick (shows disconnected) for all 5 wireless AP's shown
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle. Changing version to '19'. (As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.) Is this still a problem with Fedora 19?
fixed in f20/21
