Description Joshua Wulf 2012-02-08 04:20:06 UTC
When creating a new topic, the "Generate from Template" button is where the "Save" button would normally be. Its location on the page suggests a global scope, and it's where Save and Cancel buttons go on dialogs and web forms. Since it's a single button on an entry form its location says "Save!"

Can we put the Save Topic buttons down the bottom there, and move the "Generate from Template" button to underneath the Topic XML box, which is what it actually acts on.

Fixed in 20120217-1303

The "Generate From Template" button is now underneath the Topic XML field.

Greasemonkey hack to move the "Save Topic" buttons down the bottom on new and edit topic screens:
https://svn.devel.redhat.com/repos/ecs/toolkit/csp-additional-tools/skynet-greasemonkey/actionDownUnder.user.js

So currently half of this is implemented on the server (moving the Generate from Template button) , and the other half (putting the Save buttons down the bottom) is currently implemented in Greasemonkey on the client.

Using the Greasemonkey script I've noticed this:

In most other screens in Skynet the Action buttons are on the top *and* the bottom of the screen.

The new topic screen seems to be unique in that it only has the action buttons at the top of the screen. If it were consistent with other screens and had them at the top and the bottom, then both issues in this bug would be complete.

Switching out of ON_QA back to ASSIGNED for triage of this aspect.

The old UI will be retired, and no updates will be made to it. Please use the new UI at http://skynet.usersys.redhat.com:8080/pressgang-ccms-ui/
