Description of problem:
I have a Dell Inspiron 1440 laptop.Suspend and resume of laptop or closing of flap of laptop and then re opening causes the wireless to stop working.
I have to finally reboot the machine.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Fedora 16
uname -r
3.1.0-7.fc16.x86_64
kmod-wl was installed on machine in problem

kmod-wl-3.1.0-7.fc16.x86_64

my machine wireless pci id is
14e4:4315

0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LP-PHY [14e4:4315] (rev 01)
	Subsystem: Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-Card [1028:000c]
	Flags: fast devsel, IRQ 17
	Memory at f69fc000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled] [size=16K]
Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3

	Capabilities: [13c] Virtual Channel
	Capabilities: [16c] Power Budgeting <?>
	Kernel driver in use: wl
        Kernel modules: wl, ssb

How reproducible:
1 ) do a suspend and resume of laptop OR
2) Close the laptop flap and reopening without shutting down the machine.

Actual results:

The wireless stops working.

Expected results:
Wireless should have been working i.e. rediscover the network and connect the same wifi from which it was disconnected.

Additional info:
I have attached all the log files in /var/log
and this is a new and clean install of Fedora 16 x86_64 from Live CD.

Comment 1 Jon Masters 2012-02-23 00:05:33 UTC
I believe kmod-wl is a third party package not supported by Fedora. Please contact the provider of kmod-wl for assistance. The "kmod" package against which this bug has been filed is unrelated.

In case you know who are the providers of kmod-wl package let me know.
