I am not sure if you are aware about second Julien's commit for GTNPORTAL-1684 . His first commit was only for nonclustered configuration, so that he fixed it by another commit http://fisheye.jboss.org/changelog/gatein?cs=5240 . You applied it in EPP branch before 5240 commit so in EPP is only first thing but http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/gatein/epp/portal/branches/EPP_5_1_Branch/web/portal/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/conf/organization/picketlink-idm/jboss-cache-cluster.xml is still old configuration.
