Red Hat Issue Tracker JBEPP-886 0 Major Closed Docs: Clarify necessary group membership to see the top toolbar when Site Publisher is installed 2014-06-18 00:10:33 UTC

Description Martin Weiler 2011-04-13 09:53:52 UTC
Affects: Documentation (Ref Guide, User Guide, etc.)
Help Desk Ticket Reference: https://na7.salesforce.com/500A00000079AMR
project_key: JBEPP

Sections 3.1.2 and 3.1.3 of the SP User Guide are not entirely correct when it comes to viewing the top toolbar:
http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Portal_Platform/5.1/html/Site_Publisher_User_Guide/chap-User_Guide-Get_Started.html#sect-User_Guide-Account

"After signing in, you will be redirected to the authenticated homepage like the illustration."
The screenshot that is shown afterwards includes the top toolbar, but this top toolbar is only displayed when the user is also member of the /platform/web-contributors role. This is not the case per default for newly registered users.

The same applies to the Sign Out instructions.

We should document the necessity of adding a new user to the /platform/web-contributors role for the top toolbar to be displayed somewhere in this Chapter. See also this KBase article for potential approaches to address this: https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-54051

Comment 6 Scott Mumford 2011-07-05 07:17:20 UTC
Draft content has been added to the SP User Guide to resolve this issue: Section 3.1.6. "Toolbar Visibility" (an admonition has also been added to Section 3.1.2. "Sign In")

A new version of the doc is available on the Docs Stage; http://documentation-stage.bne.redhat.com/docs/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Portal_Platform/5.1/html-single/Site_Publisher_User_Guide/index.html#sect-User_Guide-Account-Toolbar_Visibility

The new content needs to be reviewed for technical accuracy before the patch can be approved by eXo and the update committed permanently.
