Description Dave Maley 2012-02-22 15:54:06 UTC
Description of problem:
The installation guide (section 2.1.1, task prerequisites) needs to include that port 5672 (tcp) must be open for System Engine to work properly.

Since katello-configure 0.2.2 the QPID broker uses SSL layer for communication and listens on port 5674. Port 5672 should not be used.

For current status check https://fedorahosted.org/katello/wiki/FirewallConfiguration

Comment 3 Dan Macpherson 2012-03-07 12:45:15 UTC
Changed BZ title to reflect the need for port 5674

Package: CloudForms-System_Engine_User_Guide-1.0-web-en-US-1-25.el6eng

http://documentation-stage.bne.redhat.com/docs/en-US/CloudForms/1.0/html/Installation_Guide/chap-Installation_Guide-System_Engine_Installation.html

"Ensure Port 5674 is open for SSL communication with managed systems. This can be achieved through the system-config-firewall-tui tool."

Comment 5 Dan Macpherson 2012-03-07 12:58:51 UTC
Sorry, the package listed should actually be:

Package: CloudForms-Installation_Guide-1.0-web-en-US-1-38.el6eng

Is katello-configure 0.2.2 planned for inclusion in CloudForms v1.0? The latest beta puddle (2012-03-13.1) still has 0.1 (specifically 0.1.104-1.el6).

Comment 8 Martin Bacovsky 2012-03-15 09:57:51 UTC
0.2.2 is the version in Katello. In System Engine the versioning is slightly different and the 0.1.104-1.el6 *includes* QPID runing on port 5674 (SSL). Sorry for the confusion.
