Description James Pearson 2012-02-23 14:56:59 UTC
Description of problem:

The /lib/udev/wdaemon_is_uinput.sh script does case sensitive matches on the hex $vendor and $product ids

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

0.17-2

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run wdaemon
2. Plug in an Intuos4 6x9 tablet

Actual results:

Creates symlink:

 /dev/input/uinput-devices/uinput-wacom-unknown-tablet

Expected results:

Should create symlink:

 /dev/input/uinput-devices/uinput-wacom-intuos4-6x9-tablet

Additional info:

The problem is that the script /lib/udev/wdaemon_is_uinput.sh has the following lines:

case "$vendor-$product" in
        ...
        "056a-00B8") echo "intuos4-4x6"; ;;
        "056a-00B9") echo "intuos4-6x9"; ;;
        "056a-00BA") echo "intuos4-8x13"; ;;
        ...
        *) echo "unknown"; ;;
esac;

The $product found for (my) Intuos4 6x9 tablet is '00b9' - so the above match fails

The script mixes upper and lower case for other of these hex number case pattern matches

The fix is simple, just add the line:

shopt -s nocasematch

before the case block
