Description Mike Gahagan 2012-02-23 20:09:46 UTC
Description of problem:
Installed F17 x86_64 in a VM on RHEL 6.2 host system using virtio-net and the host system is using bridging. During installation there were numerous package download failures and hitting retry enough resulted in the package getting downloaded. Post-install the network is only staying up for a few seconds at a time.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
F17 tree as of 2012-2-23
NetworkManager-0.9.3-0.2.git20120215.fc17
kernel-3.3.0-0.rc3.git7.2.fc17
How reproducible:
1 out of 1 attempt on RHEL 6.2 host (happens continously)
Observed it happen one time during installation of F17 tree as of 2012-2-22 during install to a F14 host with bridged networking, post install that guest seems fine.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. boot up system and log in; network constantly goes up and down.
2.

I also tried shutting down the guest, changing the network interface type to e1000 and restarted the guest and got the same problem.

Comment 2 Pavel Šimerda (pavlix) 2012-03-20 20:37:35 UTC
Lots of similar problems disappeared with NetworkManager-0.9.3.997-0.7.fc17 from
updates-testing repository or before. Please test.
