Created attachment 565556 [details] Noticeable corruption on top of the screen Description of problem: Having two monitors with different resolutions results in desktop icons being positioned outside of viewable area (further details in how to reproduce, it's rather configuration dependent) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): nautilus-2.28.4-18.el6.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Get two monitors with different vertical resolutions 2. Set the one with higher vertical resolution as the right one 3. Edit ~/.config/monitors.xml so that your multi monitor configuration handles your right and larger monitor as primary 4. Add several icons to your desktop (thinking of it, there are probably easier ways (such as just changing the relative position and lowering the resolution on the secondary one) Actual results: Some icons are positioned outside of area displayed by the smaller monitor Expected results: Icons are displayed inside the monitor or on the primary one Additional info: It seems that people are aware of this bug ( http://blogs.gnome.org/cneumair/2008/09/19/nautilus-multihead-desaster/ ),however it still isn't in our bugzilla
What happens if you hit F5 on the desktop?
Okay, after discussing this personally with Tomas, this issue is about the top area on the smaller screen. Apparently Nautilus expects both monitors starting at the same top position, which is not true in this case.
