Description of problem: Can't un-mute music at AlsaMixer when launch Sound Preferences,but if not launch sound preference, alsamixer 's un-mute function is ok. root cause: sound preference can sense alsamixer mute function, but can not sense alsamixer un-mute function. Version-Release number of selected component How reproducible: 1.Install RHEL 6.2 GA 2.Connect speaker to Line out. 3.Install Mplayer. 4.Launch AlsaMixer->Press F6 ->select HDA Intel PCH ->press enter. 5.Press F3->select Master ->adjust the volume to 80. 6.Play any WAV file or CD music. 7.Launch Sound Preferences. 8.Press M to mute at Master volume on Alsamixer. The output sound will be muted. 9.Press M to un-mute at Master volume on Alsamixer. 10.We can't hear the sound output from speaker. 11.Check the Mute icon to un-mute at output volume on Sound Preferences. We don't really supporting interacting directly with the low-level mixer if PulseAudio is in control of the mixer. Please use the GNOME volume control tool, or use alsamixer to change the PulseAudio mixer instead: alsamixer -D pulse alsamixer is a low-level tool that bypassed PulseAudio, hence these interactions.
