Is there an initramfs-3.2.7-1.fc16 file in /boot? Is it a non-zero size? Do you get more output if you remove the 'rhgb' and 'quiet' options on the kernel command line in grub?
The initramfs-3.2.7-1.fc16 is present and it's of non-zero size: 16452604. However, for some reason the kernel now does boot normally. I tried a couple of times and so far I can't reproduce the hanging anymore. I will keep a close eye to it though.
Since this appears to be working now, I am going to close this bug. Please feel free to reopen if it starts happening again.
