Description zou.chris 2012-03-12 05:54:20 UTC
Description of problem:

No ixgbe driver in PXE initrd.img in RHEL6.2/RHEL5.4 to support intel 82599EN

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
1. Plug-in intel 82599EN into server.
2. Power on the SUT, press boot from NIC
3. After loaded the initrd.img, there is no device shown, and need add nic driver.

Actual results:
PXE install RHEL6.2, RHEL5.4, RHEL5.8 with intel 82599EN -->FAIL

Expected results:
We want to get the initrd.img to add the
 intel 82599EN driver.

Additional info:
After we install RHEL5.4 64bit with latest driver ixgbe-3.8.21.tar, the NIC can be OK, but no built-in nic driver for PXE installation.

Would you mind creating a initrd.img (add intel 82599EN driver under RHEL5.4, RHEL6.2, RHEL5.8) for us?

This hardware will be supported in RHEL 6.3, there's already an update bug open
for the driver which includes this hardware. Marking as Duplicate and closing.
