cmdline: brasero
comment: Invoke "basero" from command-line shell (no arguments; done this way because invoking by click from Gnome-3 does not see existing platter in drive, even when unmounted.) Select previous filename from list of Recent projects. Burn (overwrite) onto platter with previous successful burn. After burn finishes, then cancel checksum. This machine has two DVD writers, and the wrong one (the empty one) is ejected by brasero. Eject the correct drive (the one with the platter just re-written) by hand (push the button on the drive). Cancel the waiting for Eject to finish. Crash.

Comment 5 John Reiser 2012-03-31 16:41:08 EDT
Burn existing .iso onto DVD /dev/sr0. Also present are sr1 and sr2, both empty. After verifying checksum, brasero ejects sr1 (one of the empty drives) and waits, with the "pendulum" swiinging from side to side. I eject the actual platter from sr0, close the tray on both drives, and try to Cancel brasero's pendulum dialog. No response. So I Close it using the window manager (right click in title bar of dialog box, select Close.) Crash.

Force close during verify pass (after burning, after finalizing). [Cancel] button got no response; instead, right-click in title bar of window, select Close. The box has two DVD writers. The platter was in one of them, the Eject opened the other writer. I pushed the manual eject button on the writer that had the platter, and removed the platter. Then I pushed the Eject button on both drives, and they both closed.

Burn .iso in /dev/sr1 when /dev/sr0 is empty. Brasero will eject /dev/sr0 (the wrong drive). Fix by manually ejecting /dev/sr1, then <Button3><Close> the "pendulum" window.

Comment 9 Fedora End Of Life 2013-07-03 20:05:41 EDT
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 17. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '17'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 17 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the
'version' to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 17's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.
Comment 10 Fedora End Of Life 2013-07-31 23:27:33 EDT
Fedora 17 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2013-07-30. Fedora 17 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
