Description bmerkel 2012-03-23 00:03:14 UTC
Description of problem:

The autofs bug referred to in the changelog for autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.163.el5 appears to have come back. Downgrading to autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.156.el5_7.4 fixes the problem.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.163.el5

How reproducible:
Install the autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.163.el5 package

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set LOGGING="debug" in /etc/sysconfig/autofs
3. yum upgrade autofs, install autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.163.el5.x86_64.rpm
4. restart autofs
5. attempt to cd to a directory specifice in an indirect map in NIS
6. mount fails

Downgrading to previous version resolves the issue:
1. yum downgrade autofs, install autofs-5.0.1-0.rc2.156.el5_7.4.x86_64.rpm
2. restart autofs
3. attempt to cd to a directory specifice in an indirect map in NIS
4. mount succeeds

Actual results:
Mount fails (see syslog entries below)

from syslog:
Mar 22 16:50:02 fmnxv03 automount[5039]: lookup_mount: lookup(yp): looking up site
Mar 22 16:50:03 fmnxv03 automount[5039]: lookup_mount: lookup(yp): site -> -fstype=autofs       autofs.nfs.nmfm
Mar 22 16:50:03 fmnxv03 automount[5039]: parse_mount: parse(sun): expanded entry: -fstype=autofs autofs.nfs.nmfm
Mar 22 16:50:03 fmnxv03 automount[5039]: parse_mount: parse(sun): gathered options: bg,hard,intr,retry=10000,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,acregmin=3,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60,timeo=600,retrans=5,nfsvers=3,tcp,fstype=autofs
Mar 22 16:50:03 fmnxv03 automount[5039]: validate_location: expected colon delimeter not found in location autofs.nfs.nmfm

Expected results:
Mount succeeds

Additional info:
From the patchnotes of the two packages, it appears this may be a recurrence of bz750463 / bz747200

This is actually a different bug that unfortunately got through
testing. It has already been reported and support are aware of
it.

Contact support and have them follow up on it.

I believe this has been fixed in a RHEL-5.8 update.
Can we close this bug then?
