Description of problem: I installed F16 on an encrypted filesystem. Baremetal kernel boots fine (3.3.0-8). However, when I try to boot any of the Xen entries (4.1, 4.1.2) I am unable to successfully boot to a login screen. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): xen 4.1.2 kernel-PAE 3.3.0-8 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install F16 on encrypted filesystem 2. install Xen 3. try to boot any Xen boot entry Actual results: Xen boot process starts, given prompt for encrypted filesystem, then lots of graphical checkerboarding occurs and no login prompt window appears. Expected results: Xen boot process starts, given prompt for encrypted filesystem, login prompt window appears. Additional info: Nvidia Geforce FX 5600
This isn't really related to encrypted filesystem - but rather that you are using an AGP video card. The issue is nicely documented in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/917211
I read that bug. Seems close. I am seeing this problem in an old HP laptop w/Nvidia Geforce FX 5600. So did they pull AGP support out of Xen kernels? .

Changing component to "kernel" -- F16 doesn't have Xen-specific kernel.
Closing this out as it's an upstream issue. It will not be fixed for F16.
