I had my gnome-shell focus policy set to mouse before upgrading from F16 to F17. After the upgrade (done as per https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Upgrading_Fedora_using_yum) my focus setting reverted to the default, and I had to restore it using gnome-tweak-tool. Note that I had trouble with some extensions after the upgrade and gnome-shell crashed, so it's possible that it reverted to its default settings as part of its crash recovery procedure, although I don't know for a fact whether it actually does that.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 17 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 17.
