Description of problem: Just updated to kernel 3.3.0-8. The computer boots just fine, login is no problem but the computer is frozen once I log-in. Pressing the windows button has no effect, for example. Ctrl-Alt-F2 does work to get a console prompt, but everything else seems to be frozen, and the network connection icon is showing red, which it never has before. This is with a live cable plugged-in to the RJ-45 port. Rebooting and choosing 3.3.0-4.fc16.x86_64 at the GRUB boot screen returns the system to normal. Note that this is the first kernel update I have done since forcing my system to use "eth0" (by adding biosdevname=0 to /etc/default/grub and then editing edit /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules to change to eth0 from em1) I had to do this to get a license manager to work :( I have a sneaking suspicion that the eth0/em1 thing is related, but I don't know for sure, and I don't know how to check. Happy to upload whatever files here but I am not sure what you need. Thanks. Red
Seems to be working now. Sorry for the false alarm.
Thanks for letting us know.
