Description fred 2012-04-15 15:16:55 UTC
Description of problem:

When using netbeans, or any java program, with a vpn activated, they happen to crash after a short while. However, with no vpn, everything works fine.
I've read about similar behaviour concerning a glibc-related bug when resolving network ressources, but can't find the webpage anymore.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
openjdk 1.7.0, and netbeans 7.1.1

1.Start netbeans on openjdk 7, with no VPN
2. Use it to check that everything runs fine.
3. Open a vpn connection using NetworkManager
4. go back to netbeans, do some network related task.
5. watch it crash, abrt sens a notification about openjdk 7.

Comment 1 Deepak Bhole 2012-07-04 20:23:35 UTC
Does the crash bring up an abrt dialog of any sort?

Comment 2 fred 2012-07-04 22:24:58 UTC
I tried to reproduce the bug, and couldnt. I suppose it has now been fixed.

Comment 3 fred 2012-07-04 22:26:15 UTC
More precisely, I could not reproduce it on my fedora 17 machine. Unfortunately, I do not have a computer running fedora 16 anymore.

Comment 4 Deepak Bhole 2012-07-05 19:20:09 UTC
Ah, I see. Thanks for trying it. I think it might be best to close this then as the problem might have been fixed on 17.

If it happens on 17, please feel free to reopen.
