This is always happening when I try to copy files to CIFS using mc. Files are copied successfuly, however their timestamps are not updated.

commit b7ca69289680cf631fb20b7d436467c4ec1153cd
Author: Steve French <smfrench>
Date: Fri Aug 3 08:43:01 2012 -0500

CIFS: Protect i_nlink from being negative

that can cause warning messages. Pavel had initially
suggested a smaller patch around drop_nlink, after
a similar problem was discovered NFS. Protecting
additional places where nlink is touched was
suggested by Jeff Layton and is included in this.

Comment 7 Sachin Prabhu 2012-10-10 10:34:33 UTC
The fix was included in 3.6-rc3 in the upstream kernel.

Confirmed that rawhide kernel-3.7.0-0.rc0.git3.1.fc19 contains this patch.

Comment 9 Dave Jones 2012-10-23 15:29:04 UTC
# Mass update to all open bugs.

Kernel 3.6.2-1.fc16 has just been pushed to updates.
This update is a significant rebase from the previous version.

Please retest with this kernel, and let us know if your problem has been fixed.

In the event that you have upgraded to a newer release and the bug you reported
is still present, please change the version field to the newest release you have
encountered the issue with. Before doing so, please ensure you are testing the
latest kernel update in that release and attach any new and relevant information
you may have gathered.

If you are not the original bug reporter and you still experience this bug,
please file a new report, as it is possible that you may be seeing a
different problem.
(Please don't clone this bug, a fresh bug referencing this bug in the comment is sufficient).

Comment 10 Justin M. Forbes 2012-11-13 15:39:59 UTC
With no response, we are closing this bug under the assumption that it is no longer an issue. If you still experience this bug, please feel free to reopen the bug report.

Comment 11 Reinier Balt 2012-11-14 06:51:57 UTC
I did not find time to test. Will reopen if I find the issue again. Thanks so far!
