Description of problem: With the upgrade to bz 4.2, the format of emails sent out has changed from plain text, to multipart HTML+text. While it is possible to alter personal login preferences to switch back to plain text only, this only works for BZ emails you receive directly. I get a great many email alerts indirectly via mail aliases or mailing lists, where I have no control over the email format. The site default should be put back to plain text only and let people *opt-in* to get HTML format. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 4.2 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. View a BZ email alert 2. 3. Actual results: Multipart HTML + text Expected results: plain text only Additional info:

The text is sent as multipart/alternate. You can configure your mail client to display the text only portion. Additionally if you are the alias or mailing list owner, you can send an e-mail to bugzilla-requests to change the e-mail format preference for you. -- simon
