Description Edward Rudd 2012-05-22 17:20:25 UTC
Description of problem:
When installing fortune-mod (as a requirement for Xfce) the install fails due to a missing librecode.so.0 dependency. Further research shows that the isssue is caused by the fact that the recode package is included in CentOS6 but NOT RHEL6

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
1.99.1-13.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
every time

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get on an official RHEL 6.2 system
2. yum groupinstall Xfce (or more simply yum install fortune-mod)

Actual results:
a dependency error referencing librecode.so.0

Expected results:
the packages to isntall

Hi, you'll need to enable the optional channel in order to get recode for RHEL 6. Or CentOS works by default.
