Gthumb was updated to 3.0.1 in Fedora Rawhide some days ago. I'm not aware of any remaining dependency issues. Probably it was just an intermittent problem. Please try again and let me know, if the problem still exists.
I've just hit a similar problem, not the same mind you, but similar, yum upgrade failed due to gthumb needing an old cogl soname. So I've just completed doing new builds of gthumb for rawhide and Fedora-18, which should fix all dependency issues wrt gthumb (for now / until another dep bumps its soname).
