Account type spontaneously switches between Red Hat and Openshift
Last modified: 2012-08-07 16:42:47 EDT
Description of problem:
I log in stage with an simple openshift acount, it will say my account type is Red Hat in my account page sometimes.(see the attachment)
If I tried to log out and log in again, it will say my account type is openshift again.(see the attachment)
Not sure which make this happen.

In this screenshot, it says firstname.lastname@example.org is OpenShift Account
I faced this problem too. But I think that it has disappeared when the auth provider problems had been fixed: https://openshift.redhat.com/app/status
We'll need to look at the stage logs probably. Matthias, it's interesting you hit this as well. Do you have only a single openshift account, or do you also have a redhat account using that same e-mail as well? Depending on which password you use you can get logged in to one or the other (often unexpectedly).
I have only a openshift account.
discussed on 2012-06-19... still investigating
Hard to imagine how this could happen unless the login service is returning invalid info (being in an incorrect role). Marking this low severity because I cannot reproduce it, will continue to investigate.
I just reprod this, investigating
Happened after I reset the password for a user. I also got a session overwrite after that in Chrome.
We found the problem - bug 838428 contains the fix. We should have no more incidents of this after that change.
