RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Vladimir Benes 2012-06-12 14:01:32 UTC
Description of problem:
after I instaled firefox (it wasn't instaled by default as KDE was) I wanted to add it into dash panel. but firefox somehow hesitates to be added (no problem with Konqueror). What is even more starenge is that it completely disappears after changing order of any other icons :-)

You can see verything in video recorded.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-shell-3.4.1-5.el7

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1.install firefox
2.go into activities->applications
3.add firefox into dash
4.try to move it to first place

Actual results:
firefox disappears

Expected results:
firefox in first place

Comment 6 Matthias Clasen 2012-10-23 02:08:25 UTC
Works fine here with 3.6.1 - please test again.

Comment 7 Vladimir Benes 2013-01-15 17:22:30 UTC
it is not working well here with
gnome-shell-3.6.2-6.el7.x86_64
firefox-17.0.1-2.el7.x86_64

it goes to the last position, cannot be moved and it disappears after g-s restart

Comment 8 Florian Müllner 2013-04-29 18:57:35 UTC
If this issue is limited to Firefox, it is likely a duplicate of bug 826960.
