Several users are reporting regressions evident in systemtap due to the recent f17 3.4.0 rebase, which removed the utrace patch but didn't replace it with the 3.5-bound uprobes. Please consider correcting this regression, and ideally not by delaying for a 3.5-based rebase some months from now.

Urgh, this was the reason I didn't upgrade from F16 to F17. But now the same issue has hit F16 with the latest kernel update to 3.4.2-1.fc16.x86_64 user-space facilities not available without kernel CONFIG_UTRACE or CONFIG_TRACEPOINTS/CONFIG_ARCH_SUPPORTS_UPROBES/CONFIG_UPROBES
Anton provided backports of the relevant uprobes changes from upstream and -tip. Those have been committed to Fedora git.
