Last modified: 2013-04-19 05:06:58 EDT
Description of problem:
I cannot get Firefox/Konqueror as a default application via details in control-center.. it's greyed out.. see picture
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Steps to Reproduce:
1.go into control-center
2.go into details
3.try to change from firefox to konqueror or vice versa
drop down menu is greyed out.. nothing in it
should be either firefox or konqueror if both are installed
don't know if some package is not missing in my installation as it was just minimal with X and some GNOME apps

Looks like Konqueror or Firefox aren't exporting that they handle the x-scheme-handler/http mime-type. Can you reproduce the bug with GNOME 3.6-based setup?

What's the output of:
gvfs-mime --query x-scheme-handler/http
on your system?
No default applications for 'x-scheme-handler/http'
firefox-16.0.1-1.fc18.x86_64 does claim to support x-scheme-handler/http, and it does show up in the control-center combo box here. Whats different in rhel7 ?
$ rpm -q firefox
So, I assume this will sort itself out when we get the next esr with firefox 17.
Vladimir, can you file a separate bug against konqueror for adding x-scheme-handler/http ?
Can we close this as NOTABUG or reassign it to Firefox?
Firefox and Konqueror are available on my system, but only Konqueror is in the menu. Additionally, when I click a link in a non-KDE application, a Konqueror window is opened, but the home page is displayed instead of the desired URL. Steps to reproduce: run yelp, scroll down to About, click it, click the link to the license.
Added to firefox-17.0.4-2.el7
Built in brew, will be a part of next compose.
it now works as expected ;-)
